Privacy policy

This policy explains what happens to the information you give Playsift. The short version: your feedback is used only to make your report, it isn't stored, and there are no cookies, ads or trackers.

What we process

• The text you paste and the game name, so a report can be written from it.
• Your IP address, held in memory for up to an hour to stop one person from sending too many requests. It isn't written to a database.
• Basic request logs (such as IP address, time and page) that our hosting provider keeps to run and protect the site.

We don't ask for your name, we don't use cookies or analytics, and the fonts are served from this site, so loading a page doesn't contact Google or other third parties.

Who else handles it

• Anthropic receives your feedback through its API and uses its Claude model to write the report. Anthropic handles API data under its own terms: Anthropic privacy policy.
• Vercel hosts the website and keeps request logs: Vercel privacy policy.
• Cloudflare handles the domain's DNS and forwards email sent to hello@playsift.site: Cloudflare privacy policy.

These companies are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. They use the safeguards that EU law requires for such transfers.

If you use your own API key

If you paste your own Claude API key, your browser sends the feedback and the key straight to Anthropic. They never pass through Playsift's server, and the key isn't saved; it's gone when you close or reload the tab. The usage is billed to your Anthropic account under Anthropic's terms.

How long we keep it

Playsift keeps no copy of your feedback or your report. Once the report reaches your browser, it exists only there. Rate-limit records expire within an hour. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to reply.

Why we're allowed to

We process your feedback because you ask us to make a report from it (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and we use IP addresses to prevent abuse, which is our legitimate interest in keeping the service working (Article 6(1)(f)).

Please don't paste personal data

Playsift is meant for game feedback. Before pasting, remove testers' real names, emails, phone numbers and anything else that identifies a person. Don't paste anything you aren't allowed to share.

Your rights

You can ask what data we have about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Since we don't store feedback, there's usually nothing to delete, but write to hello@playsift.site and we'll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) at aki.ee.

Children

Playsift is a tool for game developers and isn't aimed at children under 13.
